The  City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming

 

 This is the first part of the new City & Guilds Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification.


 What does the Introductory Certificate  cover ?


  *  Grooming Salon Health and Safety and legislation

  * The Groomers Health Check and The Small Animal Welfare Act 2007

  * Safe handling and moving of dogs. Recognising canine body language

  * Ear, eye and nail care

  * Understanding how to groom out different coat-types

  * Sanitary area care

  * Bathing and drying correctly and safely

  * Safe use of clippers and scissors ( including equipment maintenance )

  * Basic clipping patterns on 2-3 different dog breeds

  * Basic styling of heads, feet and tails

  * Using attachment combs


  This qualification is built in to The 45 Day Course, and is an optional extrta  for students enrolled on The 20 Day Course

 It is also available to groomers who aren't Abbfabb students, and wish to gain  this qualification. The fees for external students are £500-00.

       2 - By Written Assessments and Home Assignments

  * Safe care and well-being of animals in the salon

  * Health and safety in the salon


  * How will you be assessed ?


   3 Home-study written assignments

   3 short question and answer papers on grooming theory

  * Where do the assessments take place ?


   At Abbfabb Academy of Dog Grooming Training


  * City and Guilds will issue certificates to all candidates who have successfully      achieved the standard required to pass The City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in   Introductory Dog Grooming


 *  Exceptions….please read carefully the information below


  City and Guilds, quite rightly, insist that some of your knowledge is evaluated by a          method independent of Abbfabb Academy of Dog Grooming Training.

  This is achieved by students sitting an externally-marked theory paper.

  These  exams are held at an external venue in June or November and you can only    enrol through The Pet Care Trade Association.

  There is an enrolment fee payable on registration and the external venue will normally    charge a further fee on the day of the exam

  These fees ARE NOT included in our course fees
